Why we like this:

Vegan Friendly production

Forchir Merlot is a fresh and elegant red wine made from Merlot grapes grown in the heart of Friuli Venezia Giulia, specifically in the Friuli Grave area. The vines thrive on iron-rich clay soils, which impart a unique and distinctive character to the wine. The harvest takes place at the beginning of September, with a meticulous manual selection of grapes to ensure excellent quality. The fermentation process in Ganimede fermenters, with a two-week maceration on the skins, preserves the freshness and fruit aromas. After gentle pressing, the must is refined in tanks where malolactic fermentation and micro-oxygenation help stabilize the color. The wine then matures in bottles under oxygen-free conditions to retain its vibrancy and aromatic complexity. With an intense ruby red color and violet reflections, this Merlot reveals a fresh bouquet of red fruits, with notes of cherry, strawberry, and blackberry, accompanied by hints of black pepper, leather, and coffee. On the palate, the soft, well-balanced tannins make it a pleasant and versatile wine for pairings. Forchir Merlot pairs perfectly with appetizers of cured meats and cheeses, main courses with meat sauces, and roasts, offering a refined drinking experience that highlights the best of Friulian terroir.
