This wine is a masterful composition of various indigenous grape varieties: 50% Corvina, 20% Corvinone, 20% Rondinella, and a 10% blend of Molinara, Oseleta, and Turchetta. These grapes are cultivated in the municipality of San Pietro in Cariano, in clay and limestone soils that impart a unique aromatic and structural profile to the wine.
The harvest is a meticulous and careful process, followed by the drying of the grapes in the region's typical drying rooms for about four months. This drying process is subject to rigorous control to ensure the highest quality. After fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the wine matures for 24 months, 30% in barriques and 70% in Slavonian oak barrels. This multi-stage aging process develops a complexity of aromas and flavors that make this Amarone a wine of extraordinary elegance and balance.
Visually, the wine stands out for its deep ruby-red color, enriched by garnet reflections. On the nose, the bouquet is a symphony of aromas: ethereal and spicy notes blend with scents of cherry, sour cherry, raspberries, and currants in liqueur, enriched by nuances of cocoa and balsamic notes. On the palate, the structure is powerful yet incredibly balanced, with soft tannins and well-defined minerality. The wine is warm, full-bodied, and structurally sound, expressing a finesse and balance that make it an excellent choice for aging.
This Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Farina is a wine that speaks of tradition, terroir, and passion, and pairs beautifully with a variety of dishes, from red meats to aged cheeses. It is a wine that can be appreciated both in the short term and over the long haul, thanks to its ability to evolve and mature over time.
