Piazzo's Barbera d'Alba Superiore Mugiot DOC is a wine resulting from a special varietal selection from the Mugiot vineyard. Mugiot in Piedmontese means "little pile", a nickname attributed to Armando Piazzo's grandfather who, as a wood trader, used to prepare it in small "piles". Its ruby red color is accented by garnet nuances that become more evident with aging. On the nose, you'll find spicy, fruity, and ethereal notes dominated by sensations of jam, blackberries, green pepper, and vanilla, enriched by toasted undertones and hints of withered roses. In the mouth, the wine is warm, soft, and enveloping, with a lingering aromatic finish. This wine pairs beautifully with hot appetizers, well-structured starters, and meat mains. It's the ideal companion for an elegant dinner or a special occasion.

The Piazzo Comm. Armando winery was founded in the 1960s by Armando Piazzo and Gemma Veglia in San Rocco Seno d'Elvio, a hamlet in the municipality of Alba. To date, the company can count on 70 hectares of vineyards in the municipalities of Mango, Neviglie, Guarene and Novello. The winemaking philosophy respects tradition especially for the production of Barolo and Barbaresco but with particular attention to cleanliness and innovation. In the cellar, the effort is at its maximum to make the most of the raw material, fruit of the sacrifices and work carried out in the vineyard. The wines produced are the soul of the territory, they stand out for their perfumed bouquets on the nose, with great body and structure but balanced and elegant on the palate.
