The Barolo Serralunga d'Alba Riserva 2018 by Fontanafredda is a wine of great elegance and structure, produced exclusively with Nebbiolo grapes from the historic vineyards of the company located in Serralunga d'Alba. This wine results from traditional vinification in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures, with fermentation lasting about 15 days and followed by a post-fermentative maceration on the skins for one week. The aging process includes 36 months in oak barrels, an additional 12 months in cement, and further aging in the bottle for at least 12 months, allowing it to express its best qualitative characteristics immediately and with an aging potential of 25-30 years. In the glass, the wine presents a garnet color with slight orange reflections. The bouquet is intense, with notes of wilted roses accompanied by fragrant balsamic hints. On the palate, it is full and vibrant, with an austere structure typical of great Barolo, enhanced by sweet tannins and a long, spicy finish. This Barolo is ideal when paired with important dishes such as red meats, roasts, braised dishes, and aged cheeses.

The Fontanafredda winery, founded in 1858 by Vittorio Emanuele II, first King of Italy, for his beloved Rosa Vercellana, has become an icon of Barolo and a model of sustainability and innovation in the Langhe region of Piedmont. Fontanafredda is not just a winery; it is a living legend of Barolo, born from the love between a king and his rose in the pulsating heart of the Piedmontese Langhe. Today, it is a symbol of the Langhe and Italy. With over 120 hectares of organic vineyards, this estate represents a hidden treasure among the hills of Serralunga d'Alba, Barolo, and beyond, where time seems to stand still and nature triumphs in all its splendor. Respect for the land and an ecological approach are central to Fontanafredda's philosophy, which has been practicing organic agriculture since 2015, certified in 2018.
