Tasting Notes
- Color: Garnet red with orange reflections.
- Aroma: Intense and complex, featuring notes of ripe cherry, rose petals, hints of truffle, sweet spices, and earthy undertones.
- Palate: Elegant and harmonious, with silky tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long finish reminiscent of licorice and dried red fruits.
Winemaking and Aging
Made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes, hand-harvested and fermented at controlled temperatures in stainless steel tanks. A prolonged maceration enhances the grape’s aromatic potential. The wine is aged in Allier oak barrels for 12 months, followed by 6 months of bottle aging, adding depth and balance.

-
Main Courses: Braised beef, lamb roasts, and game meats.
-
Cheese: Pairs beautifully with aged cheeses like Parmigiano-Reggiano or Castelmagno.
Why Choose It?

Fontanafredda is not just a winery; it is a living legend of Barolo, born from the love between a king and his rose in the pulsating heart of the Piedmontese Langhe. Today, it is a symbol of the Langhe and Italy. With over 120 hectares of organic vineyards, this estate represents a hidden treasure among the hills of Serralunga d'Alba, Barolo, and beyond, where time seems to stand still and nature triumphs in all its splendor. Respect for the land and an ecological approach are central to Fontanafredda's philosophy, which has been practicing organic agriculture since 2015, certified in 2018.
