Our reviews:

The Greco di Tufo Riserva Adiego DOCG by Kapemort is a white wine that expresses the quintessence of Campania. Made with Greco grapes grown in the Santa Paolina vineyard, this wine undergoes a 12-month aging on fine lees and an additional 2 months in the bottle. On the nose, ripe fruit notes such as peach, pineapple, apricot, and cedar emerge. On the palate, the wine is dry, warm, and soft, with good freshness and excellent persistence. It's a versatile wine that pairs beautifully with seafood dishes like raw shellfish and sauté, but also with land dishes like pasta with mushrooms and truffles, and blue cheeses.

Located in the province of Avellino, a stone's throw from Montefalcione, the Donnachiara company produces three very important DOCGs in the Irpinia area: Greco di Tufo, Fiano di Avellino and Taurasi. The Petitto family, respecting the tradition of this prestigious wine-growing area, takes care of the production process from the vineyard to the bottle in order to obtain excellent wines capable of satisfying every palate. In 2021 the company launches Kapemort, a line in collaboration with the artist Alex Caminiti that combines the esoteric tradition of Naples, a city of mystery, alchemy and legend, with the wines of the Irpinia terroir.

What is special about Greco di Tufo Riserva Adiego DOCG 2020 - Kapemort ?

In recent years, even the great Italian white wines are conquering a deserved space among the world's excellences, not only for their expressive immediacy, but above all for their ability to evolve over time. Some age in the bottle or on the lees for years, developing complexity, depth and a noble aromatic maturity that recalls the best whites of European tradition. It is a phenomenon that involves territories such as Alto Adige, Friuli, Etna and Irpinia, where the combination of identifying grape varieties and characterful terroir allows these wines to shine even after a long rest in the cellar. This rediscovery of the evolutionary potential has brought lustre and attention back to typologies once considered only for young consumption, making them today objects of collection and thoughtful tasting.
