Borgogno's Timorasso Derthona, a white wine specimen hailing from the hills surrounding Tortona and Monleale, distinctly positions itself in the wine landscape of the Colli Tortonesi DOC, with its 100% Timorasso grape. This wine expresses a deep connection with its native territory, highlighted by a clay-limestone soil and meticulous Guyot cultivation at 250 meters above sea level, culminating in manual harvesting towards the end of September. Vinification follows a careful and fruit-respectful path, beginning with a three-day cold maceration in steel, followed by static decantation and spontaneous fermentation in cement tanks at 17°C for 25 days. Aging continues in steel for ten months, with an additional resting period in the bottle for seven months, enhancing the purity and complexity of the Timorasso. Visually, the Derthona presents itself with an intense, clear, and consistent yellow hue. On the nose, it reveals an enveloping complexity, with fruity notes reminiscent of pear and peach, floral accents of acacia flowers and hawthorn, along with distinctive mineral undertones. The characteristic hint of honey is emblematic of this wine. On the palate, it demonstrates impeccable balance between marked alcohol content and vigorous acidity, translating into a dry, warm, and sophisticated flavor profile of persistent harmony. Its versatility makes it ideal for pairing with a variety of dishes. It pairs perfectly with rich seafood and land-based preparations, ranging from Piedmontese cuisine appetizers like Russian salad and veal with tuna sauce. A gastronomic companion that transcends cultures and traditions, celebrating culinary diversity.

Borgogno is an institution in the wine world, with roots dating back to 1761 in the Langhe region of Piedmont. This historic winery has traversed centuries of Italian wine history, significantly contributing to the development of Barolo, known as the "King of Wines." Cesare Borgogno's innovative vision in the 1920s, which expanded production and began exporting wines abroad, positioned Borgogno as an international reference point in the wine industry. Today, Borgogno manages 39 hectares of land, 31 of which are vineyards, with cultivations ranging from indigenous varieties such as Nebbiolo, the protagonist of their renowned Barolo, to minor varieties such as Dolcetto, Barbera, Freisa, Riesling, and Timorasso, the latter being the focus of a revitalization project. Borgogno's philosophy, which combines respect for tradition with an eye for sustainability and innovation, is reflected in its wines, appreciated both for their traditional style and long-term aging potential, making them favorites among Italian wine enthusiasts and collectors.
