The 2001 vintage in Barbaresco has been hailed as one of the best ever. The wines exhibited an excellent balance between alcohol, solid tannins, and lively acidity. The result was a wine that promised a magical combination of early drinkability and longevity, with the generous fruitiness required for the former and the robust structure needed for the latter.

The Barbaresco Riserva DOCG 2001 by Roberto Sarotto expresses the magnificence and depth of one of the best vintages ever. Made from Nebbiolo grapes and aged for four years in large Slavonian oak barrels, this wine is an oenological masterpiece. After aging in wood, the wine was stored in steel until its recent bottling in 2022, a process that gives it unparalleled freshness. On the nose, almost ethereal notes of red fruits and violet emerge, followed by delicate hints of leather and tobacco. In the mouth, the wine is warm and juicy, with well-balanced and time-refined tannins. The structure is harmonious, with a perfect balance between acidity, sapidity, and body. Bottled with DIAM corks to ensure impeccable sealing, this wine is a true treasure for wine lovers.
