The Borgogno Barolo Liste is a distinguished representation of Nebbiolo, rooted in the storied soils of the Liste vineyard in Barolo. This exquisite wine is celebrated for its substantial complexity and elegance, embodying the depth of its unique terroir. Cultivated in a vineyard with south/south-east exposure, between 270 and 330 meters above sea level, the soil is a rich blend of calcareous and clay marl, abundant in sedimentary clay, setting the stage for the wine's distinctive profile. Following traditional methods, the vinification process involves spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts in concrete tanks, under strictly controlled temperatures. This is followed by an extended maceration period, enhancing the wine's intricate flavors and texture. Aged for four years in Slavonian oak casks, and further refined in the bottle for six months, the Liste matures into a wine of unparalleled complexity and silky softness. The bouquet offers an intricate tapestry of mature red fruits, highlighted by nuances of pomegranate tea, incense, and exotic fruits such as lychee and pink guava, with undertones of fresh herbs and grass. The palate is greeted with a supple yet assertive structure, marked by polished tannins and a vibrant acidity that delivers flavors with precision and depth. The finish lingers with a memorable aftertaste of rose petals, showcasing the wine's elegant and flavorful profile. Barolo Liste pairs superbly with rich, structured dishes, including traditional Piedmontese meats, pulled pork, empanadas, and beef brisket, as well as with braised red meats, game dishes, and aged cheeses like Castelmagno and Gorgonzola. It's also a perfect complement to Piedmontese classics like brasato al Barolo and white truffles from Alba, demonstrating its versatility across a wide range of culinary traditions.

Borgogno is an institution in the wine world, with roots dating back to 1761 in the Langhe region of Piedmont. This historic winery has traversed centuries of Italian wine history, significantly contributing to the development of Barolo, known as the "King of Wines." Cesare Borgogno's innovative vision in the 1920s, which expanded production and began exporting wines abroad, positioned Borgogno as an international reference point in the wine industry. Today, Borgogno manages 39 hectares of land, 31 of which are vineyards, with cultivations ranging from indigenous varieties such as Nebbiolo, the protagonist of their renowned Barolo, to minor varieties such as Dolcetto, Barbera, Freisa, Riesling, and Timorasso, the latter being the focus of a revitalization project. Borgogno's philosophy, which combines respect for tradition with an eye for sustainability and innovation, is reflected in its wines, appreciated both for their traditional style and long-term aging potential, making them favorites among Italian wine enthusiasts and collectors.
