The Alta Langa 166 Hundred Sixty Six by Fontanafredda stands out as an exclusive creation, dedicated to celebrating the winery's anniversary with a limited production of bottles. This classic method sparkling wine is the result of exceptional refinement for at least 48 months on the lees, well beyond the typical maturation times of an Alta Langa, giving the wine extraordinary complexity and a unique character. Produced entirely from selected Pinot Noir grapes from vineyards located between 200 and 600 meters above sea level, this wine reflects the excellence of the terroir of S. Stefano Belbo, Castino Borgomale, and Lequio Berria. The soils, mainly composed of white clays alternating with layers of sands and calcareous marls, along with the south and southwest exposure, contribute to an ideal microclimate for grape ripening. The winemaking process is based on slow maturation in the bottle, allowing the development of fine and elegant aromas, with notes ranging from wildflower honey to spices, from toasted dried fruits to bread crust. These characteristics are reflected in a wine with a golden yellow color with green reflections, a very fine and persistent perlage, which on the palate reveals the robustness of Pinot Noir with a long, fresh, and savory finish. Its undisputed personality makes it excellent as an aperitif, but it is especially during the meal that this sparkling wine can express itself at its best, accompanying each course with class thanks to its structure and complexity. The careful selection of grapes, the long refinement, and the aromatic richness make the Alta Langa Hundred Sixty Six a prestigious choice for lovers of refined and structured sparkling wines, symbolizing Piedmontese oenological excellence.
