Complex Elegant Fruity

The Langhe Nebbiolo by Cantina Piazzo is a splendid representation of the Langhe region's winemaking excellence. This wine presents a deep ruby-red color with subtle garnet reflections. On the nose, it offers an alluring bouquet of wild berries, rose petals, and violets, intertwined with delicate hints of sweet spices and licorice. The palate is greeted with flavors of ripe cherries and raspberries, balanced by a lively acidity and fine tannins. Mid-palate, it reveals layers of complexity with notes of dried figs, tobacco, and a touch of cocoa. The finish is long and elegant, leaving a lingering impression of spiced fruit and a subtle mineral undertone.

The hand-harvested grapes undergo a gentle pressing before fermentation in stainless steel tanks, preserving the purity of the Nebbiolo grape. The wine is then aged in oak barrels, allowing the flavors to meld and mature beautifully. This Langhe Nebbiolo is exceptionally versatile at the table. It pairs wonderfully with rich pasta dishes like pappardelle with wild boar ragù or a classic risotto with porcini mushrooms. Its balanced acidity and structured tannins also make it an excellent companion for roasted meats, particularly lamb or beef. For a delightful end to the meal, try it with aged cheeses like Parmigiano-Reggiano or Pecorino. Ideal for a cozy dinner party or a special celebration, this wine promises to elevate any occasion.

The Piazzo Comm. Armando winery was founded in the 1960s by Armando Piazzo and Gemma Veglia in San Rocco Seno d'Elvio, a hamlet in the municipality of Alba. To date, the company can count on 70 hectares of vineyards in the municipalities of Mango, Neviglie, Guarene and Novello. The winemaking philosophy respects tradition especially for the production of Barolo and Barbaresco but with particular attention to cleanliness and innovation. In the cellar, the effort is at its maximum to make the most of the raw material, fruit of the sacrifices and work carried out in the vineyard. The wines produced are the soul of the territory, they stand out for their perfumed bouquets on the nose, with great body and structure but balanced and elegant on the palate.
