Born in the Italian Alps near Switzerland, in a river valley called Valtellina, this wine is a tribute to both tradition and innovation. The Appassimento technique, originally brought by the Greeks, is used to intensify the flavors and aromas of this Nebbiolo, making it both powerful and elegant. Visually, the wine presents itself with a deep ruby red color, almost as if it's trying to capture the essence of the surrounding mountains. On the nose, dried red fruit notes like cherries and cranberries are accompanied by nuances of dried rose and earthy spices. On the palate, the wine is dry and full-bodied, with firm tannins and high acidity, typical of Nebbiolo, giving it considerable aging potential. As for pairings, this wine is an ideal companion for game meats, roasts, and aged cheeses. Imagine sitting in front of a fireplace, with a plate of roasted wild boar and a glass of this Sforzato: it's the epitome of perfection.
